Promotional graphics that make your business look its best
Social media graphics, Facebook adverts, event posters and offer graphics for small businesses, tradespeople and local organisations — designed around your message, not just generated.
Civil Digital helps small businesses and local organisations create professional promotional graphics: social media posts, Facebook adverts, event posters and campaign images that are clear, accurate and easy to read on a phone.
A promotional graphic usually has a few seconds to get its message across to someone scrolling past. It needs to say who you are, what you're offering and what to do next, without anyone having to squint or guess. That takes more than a striking picture, so we start with the problem — what you're promoting, and to whom — before choosing how to make the image.
Do your Facebook adverts still look like this?!

More than generating an image
Why a promotional graphic needs a brief, decisions and checks, not just a prompt.
AI image generators can be a useful starting point, and we may use AI tools, including ChatGPT, in our own process. But a one-shot generated image is rarely a finished promotional graphic. The tool is only part of the process: the brief, the creative direction, the refinement and the final judgement matter too. An effective graphic usually needs thought about:
- Audience and purpose
- Who the graphic is for and what you want them to do after seeing it.
- Message and call to action
- One clear main message and an obvious next step: call, book, visit or message.
- Visual hierarchy
- The most important information is the first thing people notice; supporting details come second.
- Typography, spacing and composition
- Fonts, sizes and space that make the text easy to read and the layout feel balanced.
- Brand consistency
- Your logo, colours and style used the same way every time, so people recognise you.
- Dimensions and cropping
- The right size and shape for where it will appear, with nothing important cut off.
- Accurate details
- Dates, times, prices, phone numbers, addresses and spelling checked, because image tools can distort or invent text.
- Legibility on mobile
- Text large enough and with enough contrast to read on a small screen, including for people with sight difficulties.
- Review and quality checks
- Iteration, a fresh look and a final check before anything is published.
Not sure whether you need help? Our guide, Using AI to create business graphics: what to check before publishing, walks through the same checks so you can review a graphic yourself.
How it works
Five steps from your idea to a finished graphic.
- Tell us what you need. Your business, your audience, what you're promoting and where it will appear.
- We work out the best approach. We agree the message, the format and the visual direction with you.
- We create and refine the design. Using suitable tools and an iterative process, we develop the graphic and check every detail.
- You review the result. You give feedback on the design. How many rounds of changes are included is agreed before work starts.
- Receive your finished graphic. We deliver the files and sizes we agreed at the start.
Pricing and timing. Every request is different, so we quote once we understand what you need. Before any work starts you'll know the price, what's included and when you'll receive your files.

Common questions
Can't I just make the graphic myself with an AI tool?
Often you can, and for a quick post that may be all you need. Help is worth it when the graphic matters: an advert you're paying to show, a poster for an important event, or a set of posts that should look consistent. Whichever you choose, check the details, readability and sizing before publishing; our checklist covers what to look for.
Do you use AI to create the graphics?
Sometimes. We use whichever tools suit the job, which may include AI tools such as ChatGPT. What you're paying for is the process around them: understanding the brief, deciding the message and layout, refining the design and checking every detail before it goes out. Civil Digital is independent and is not affiliated with OpenAI or any AI provider.
How much does a promotional graphic cost?
It depends on what you need, so we quote after you tell us about it. You'll have the price, what's included and the delivery date before any work starts.
Can you match my existing branding?
Yes. Send us your logo, colours and any graphics you already use, and we'll design to match them. If you don't have a brand style yet, we'll keep your graphics consistent with each other.
Will a professional graphic get me more customers?
No one can honestly guarantee that. Results depend on your offer, your audience and where the graphic is shown. A clear, accurate, readable graphic gives your message a better chance of being noticed and understood.
