How we handle the personal data you share with us.

Who we are
Civil Digital ("we", "us") is a sole trader based in Bedford, United Kingdom, and is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. For any privacy query, contact us at info@civildigital.co.uk or via WhatsApp on +44 7568 296136.
What we collect
When you email us or message us on WhatsApp, we collect the information you provide — typically your name, organisation, email address, phone number and the content of your message.
When you book our App Testing Service, we also collect your name, email address and the details you give us about your app (such as the app link and dummy test account username) through Stripe checkout and our booking form. Stripe collects your payment details directly; we never see or store your full card number. During testing we take screenshots and notes of your app, which may show the dummy test data you provide.
We do not use analytics or tracking cookies, so we do not collect data about how you browse the site.
How we use it
We use your details solely to respond to your enquiry, arrange any discovery call you request, follow up about the services you've asked about, and deliver any service you book from us, including taking payment and sending your report. We do not sell your data.
Legal basis
We process this information on the basis of your consent and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services, in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. When you book a service, we process your details because we need them to perform our contract with you, and we keep payment records because the law requires it.
Third-party processors
Depending on how you contact us, your message may be processed by our email provider or, if you message us on WhatsApp, by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own privacy terms. If we enable a third-party form service to handle website enquiries, it will process your submission on our behalf under its own terms.
When you book a service:
- Stripe processes your payment. Stripe receives your name, email address and payment details, and keeps the booking details you enter on our form with your payment record. It handles them under its privacy policy.
- Google (Firebase) receives the booking form on our behalf, in its London region, and passes it to Stripe and on by email without storing it.
- Resend sends your booking confirmation to you, and the booking details to us, once your payment has gone through.
We do not sell or share your data with anyone else.
Retention
We keep enquiry correspondence only for as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards, then delete it.
For the App Testing Service, we delete screenshots, logs and app details 12 months after testing ends. We keep payment and booking records for as long as UK tax law requires.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or request deletion of your personal data, and to object to its processing. To exercise any of these rights, email info@civildigital.co.uk. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Cookies
This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. If analytics are added later, this section will be updated and a cookie notice provided where required.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page.
