The golden rule
FarmFlow never handles payment between buyers and sellers. If anyone asks you to pay for goods "through FarmFlow", by gift card, or by wire transfer before you've seen the goods — it's a scam. Report it.
Meeting in person
- Meet in daylight, in a public place — a market, a busy junction, a police station car park.
- Bring someone with you, especially for high-value trades like machinery or livestock.
- Tell someone where you're going and who you're meeting.
- Inspect goods before money changes hands. For produce, check quantity and quality yourself.
- For large amounts, consider meeting at a bank so cash can be checked and deposited immediately.
Spotting scams
- Too-good prices — a tractor at half market value is bait, not a bargain.
- Pressure to move off-app quickly — scammers want to leave FarmFlow's messaging so there's no record.
- Deposits before viewing — never send money to "hold" an item you haven't seen.
- Overpayment tricks — a "buyer" who sends too much and asks for the difference back is using a fake or reversible payment.
- Blurry or stock photos — ask for a photo of the item with today's date written on paper beside it.
Buying livestock, meat, or machinery?
These categories are limited to Verified Sellers, who have shown us identity and regulatory documents. Look for the verified badge on the seller's profile — and still do your own checks: ask to see movement permits for animals, inspection records for meat, and serial numbers with matching paperwork for machinery.
Protecting your account
- Never share your password or sign-in codes — FarmFlow staff will never ask for them.
- Keep conversations in the app until you're ready to meet; it creates a record if something goes wrong.
- Report suspicious users from their profile or any chat.
If something goes wrong
Report the listing or user in the app, then contact support with details. If a crime has been committed, report it to your local police — we cooperate with lawful investigations.
